Barclays Libor “Price Fixing” : Collusion Is Illegal . . .

News that Barclays Bank has been hit with a $453 million fine for its involvement in manipulating the London Interbank Overnight Rate, commonly referred to as Libor, has crushed the stock of the UK-based bank. Barclays stock is down close to 15% in early trading.

Czech Central Bank Cuts Interest Rate To Record 0.5%

  The Czech central bank has cut its key policy rate by 25 basis points to a record low of 0.50 percent, as widely expected, the bank said in a statement.
    The two-week repo rate was cut to 0.5 percent and the Lombard rate, a ceiling for short-term rates, was also cut by 25 basis points to 1.5 percent.
