TODAY'S SUMMARY
Ireland could be bailed out whether it likes it or not
18 November 2010
Ireland may get its bail-out whether it wants it or not, says Sean O'Grady in the Independent - British and European banks have big exposures to Ireland. Meanwhile, on his BBC blog, Robert Peston notes that there is a strong moral case for foreign creditors to share the cost of rehabilitating Ireland's banks. Elsewhere, in the Times, Tim Montgomerie suggests that William Hague's support amongst Conservatives has been eroded by his new positions on Europe, Israel, and defence. Over at the Guardian, Simon Tisdall offers advice for Barack Obama at the Lisbon summit - the president needs to show he believes that Europe and the US still need each other. Finally, in the Washington Post, Bjorn Lomborg argues that coping with climate change is something that humans already know how to do.
