Posted: 23 Aug 2010 12:27 AM PDT Further to my post about the bond vs. stock market conundrum, here are some further warnings from the cyclicals. The first chart shows the relative performance of the cyclically sensitive Semiconductors against Technology stocks. The Semis have been weakening on a relative basis and violated a relative support level in early August. Looking at the relative returns of the broader Morgan Stanley Cyclical Index against the market, these cyclicals fell through a relative uptrend in early June … [visit site to read more] |

Aggressive Growth Stock: Nanometrics Inc. Posted: 22 Aug 2010 11:05 PM PDT Nanometrics (NASDAQ:NANO) is up sharply on its most recent earnings report. But shares are still a great value after sizable estimate revisions. |
Bear Of The Day: CRA International, Inc. Posted: 22 Aug 2010 11:05 PM PDT CRA International’s (CRA) second-quarter earnings were modestly ahead of the Zacks Consensus Estimate primarily owing to the uptick in utilization rate backed by successful restructuring actions. |
Growth & Income Stock: WD-40 Company Posted: 22 Aug 2010 11:05 PM PDT WD-40 Company (NASDAQ:WDFC) recently announced it expected its fiscal 2010 earnings per share would meet or top its previously issued guidance. |
Bull Of The Day: Energizer Holdings Posted: 22 Aug 2010 11:05 PM PDT Energizer Holdings’ (NYSE:ENR) third quarter 2010 earnings beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate by $0.39 per share or 41%, riding on higher sales, launch of new Schick Hydro, meaningful cost-saving initiatives, favorable foreign currency impact, higher battery sales and lower-than-expected A&P spending. |
Momentum Stock: Watts Water Technology, Inc. Posted: 22 Aug 2010 11:05 PM PDT Watts Water Technology, Inc. (NYSE:WTS) continues to trade near its multi-year high after reporting better than expected Q2 results on August 3. Not only are estimates on the rise, but the valuation picture is in check too for this Zacks #1 rank stock. |

However, there are still many holes in this piece. The author basically concludes that Gold is a currency and not a commodity because it has followed US Dollar movements closely. Yes, we all know that Gold and the greenback usually move in opposite directions. However, while noting Gold as a currency, the author fails to note that it is a worldwide and universal … [visit site to read more] |
Three Reasons Lithium Is Likely To Shine Posted: 22 Aug 2010 08:17 PM PDT One month ago, Global X announced the latest addition to its ETF product lineup, the Global X Lithium ETF (LIT), giving investors an easy way to play the metal and it has been a hit. |
Posted: 22 Aug 2010 05:37 PM PDT When people talk about how Washington has helped its friends on Wall Street (and elsewhere) at the expense of the little guy, the discussion usually centers on taxpayer-funded bailouts and the various liabilities taken on by the government (think AIG and Fannie Mae) that are bleeding the public coffers dry. |
