This week mortgage applications decreased 3.5% compared to last week while almost all mortgage rates have increased, according to Freddie Mac. This month consumer confidence also increased, which could mean a boost for the economy, due to the higher consumer spending projections.

30-year fixed-rate mortgages increased this week to 4.4% compared to 4.32% last week.
