Hot Option Plays: Out With Summer, In With New Highs

Cusick’s Corner 09-06-2012
The bulls are in control and it is worth looking at action that would be interesting for any continuation. First, there was no pullback, so if the market opens lower tomorrow that could be an interesting opportunity for those who missed the rally train. If we see an upside move on the employment data at the open, short-term sellers may get early ammo to take the market down, at least early. With the market now at highs that we have not seen since the spring, we are … [visit site to read more] or compare Best Mortgage Rates, Credit Card Rewards or Best Credit Cards

In “You Know You’re in Strange Economic Times When…,” I noted rapper Slim Thug’s goal of becoming the “Black Suze Orman”. In fact, there seems to be a growing number of celebrities weighing in on economic and financial matters nowadays, including:

More Evidence Of Recovery: Home Builders Don’t Have Enough Workers To Meet New Demand

Posted: 06 Sep 2012 12:32 PM PDT

CNBC’s Diana Olick reports that:
After losing 70 percent of their business in the housing crash, the nation’s home builders are breaking ground again. New orders for homes are rebounding strongly, and housing starts have shown sustained growth over the past year. The demand is there; unfortunately, in some areas, the workers to build these homes are not.

Many former construction workers moved on to facilities maintenance work or remodeling, or whatever jobs they could find. Replacing them is … [visit site to read more] or compare Best Mortgage Rates, Credit Card Rewards or Best Credit Cards

Hot Option Plays: Is This A Melt Up?

Cusick’s Corner 09-06-2012
The ECB stuck with the script and the market reacted favorably but this run seems to have more to do with the Claims and ADP numbers. Both came in much better than expected and the private sector job growth, ADP, was over the 200K mark, a huge plus for domestic economy and could be a prelude into the Employment report tomorrow. The bulls are driving and it will be interesting to see if the underinvested gets pressured into this upside move. See you After Hours.

Killing Time In Detroit City

Posted: 06 Sep 2012 11:34 AM PDT

"I wanna go home
I wanna go home
Ohh how I wanna go home"
Detroit City, written by Mel Tillis and sung by Bobby Bare, is one of my favorite oldies. Actually, all my favorites are oldies. Like the father of one of my first grade classmates, this lament came from a good old Southern boy who went to Detroit to make his way in the auto industry. The one in the song put up a brave front in his letters home:
"Homefolks think I'm big in Detroit City"
"By day I make the cars;
by night I … [visit site to read more] or compare Best Mortgage Rates, Credit Card Rewards or Best Credit Cards
