Sri Lanka Holds Interest Rate Steady At 7.75% Posted: 06 Aug 2012 11:46 PM PDT     The Central Bank of Sri Lanka held its main repurchase rate steady at 7.75 percent, as forecast, as growth remains on track and inflation is expected to remain around the target.     The central bank acknowledged that global economic conditions had worsened but the adverse impact was not likely to affect Sri Lanka’s economy more than already anticipated earlier this year when 2012 growth forecasts were cut to 7.2 percent from 8.0 percent.
