Hot Option Plays: Watching Retail

Posted: 07 May 2012 02:44 PM PDT

Cusick’s Corner 05-07-2012
Sentiment has been mixed and the trade into the After Hours was uninspired in either direction. I did specifically notice one economically sensitive sector under pressure — Retail (XRT). This sector’s performance is determined by Consumer spending habits and over the past few weeks this has been pulling back, and if the consumer pulls back then this sector will pull back too. This would be negative for the economy since this sector makes up almost two-thirds of the … [visit site to read more] or compare Credit Card Rewards and Best Credit Cards

Five Stocks For Tuesday’s Trading

Posted: 07 May 2012 02:31 PM PDT

Today’s chart of the day is America Movil SAB de CV (NYSE:AMX). What I like about this stock is the relative performance it has exhibited in the last few days with respect to the overall markets. AMX’s chart pattern continued its bullish fervour today, making another new high of $28.47 accompained by a strong volume suggesting higher levels. The technical chart still showing a bullish bias. The bulls may continue their domination but you should be prepared for a possible … [visit site to read more] or compare Credit Card Rewards and Best Credit Cards

Question: How Many Gallons Of Gasoline Would It Take To Charge An IPhone?

Posted: 07 May 2012 01:52 PM PDT

“This may seem like a strange question to ask, considering iPhones obviously are charged with electricity, not gasoline. But the answer speaks to why gasoline and other liquid fuels will remain an important part of the energy mix in the future.

In ExxonMobil's recently released Outlook for Energy, we predict that by 2040, about 90 percent of the global transportation fleet will still be powered by liquid petroleum fuels – that is, gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel. When asked why that's … [visit site to read more] or compare Credit Card Rewards and Best Credit Cards

‘Very Little Hiring In Anticipation Of Longer Range Prospective Demand”

Posted: 07 May 2012 01:49 PM PDT

Given that small businesses have traditionally been among the first to hire new employees during past recoveries, can we assume, based on the following reports, that there is no recovery?
“NFIB Jobs Statement: Hiring Trends Inconsistent and Disappointing” (NFIB)

Best Performer This Year May Surprise Investors

Posted: 07 May 2012 01:23 PM PDT

Since the stock market's gate opened at the beginning of 2012, emerging countries were off to a fast start. Stocks in Brazil, Colombia and India galloped to the lead, increasing more than 10 percent within the first few weeks of the year.
By the time the end of April came around, Colombia had sprinted to the lead, followed closely by Thailand and the Philippines. All increased more than 20 percent in the first four months of 2012.

However, rather than focusing on the leaders of the pack, … [visit site to read more] or compare Credit Card Rewards and Best Credit Cards

The Conference Board Employment Trends Index increased 0.8 percent in April to 108.04, up from the revised figure of 107.18 in March (see chart above).  The April figure is 7.1 percent higher than a year ago.

Real Question: Are Corporations Economically Distinct From The People Who Comprise Them?

Posted: 07 May 2012 11:01 AM PDT

Mitt Romney in the video states that: “Corporations are people.”

Barack Obama responded: "I don't care how many times you try to explain it – Corporations aren't people. People are people,” getting huge applause from a crowd in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday.

In this video below from LearnLiberty.org, economics professor Steve Horwitz answers the really important and relevant question: “Are corporations economically distinct from the people who comprise … [visit site to read more] or compare Credit Card Rewards and Best Credit Cards
