Turkey boosts gold holdings by 41%, Korea by 15%

Turkey has increased its Gold holdings by 41.3% in November, the largest increase in gold purchases for the month, a World Gold Council report states. Korea came a close second with a 15% increase in gold holdings.    


Barclays: Gold prices have kicked off the year 2012 slowly

Barclays Capital said that the supportive influences remain in place for gold. Gold prices have kicked off the year slowly, reclaiming lost ground after testing their lowest levels since July at the end of last year.    


Gold production in Guyana remains under-reported

The Gold Traders Association this morning set the buying price at 24,589.52 baht per baht-weight for gold ornaments and 24,950 baht per baht-weight for gold bar. The selling prices were set at 25,450 baht per baht-weight for gold ornaments, and 25,050 baht per baht-weight for gold bar.  


Fresnillo forecasts 41 million ounces of silver output and 460,000 oz of gold in 2012

Mexican precious metals miner Fresnillo PLC Wednesday beat its full-year silver and gold production targets and said it expects to deliver strong financial results in 2011 due in part to significantly higher metal prices

Sprott announces follow-on offering in its Silver trust

Sprott Physical Silver Trust (NYSE:PSLV) announced today that it has launched a follow-on offering of transferable, redeemable units of the Trust. The trust was created to invest and hold substantially all of its assets in physical silver bullion and is managed by Sprott Asset Management LP.
