Forexpros – The euro ended the week sharply lower against the U.S. dollar on Friday, hovering close to a 15-month low as renewed concerns over the euro zone's financial crisis continued to weigh on the single currency.

EUR/USD hit 1.2857 on Thursday, the pair's lowest since September 14, 2010; the pair subsequently consolidated at 1.2959 by close of trade on Friday, retreating 0.75% over the week.

Natural Gas Futures – Weekly Outlook: January 2 – 6

Forexpros – Natural gas prices traded below USD3.00-per-British-thermal-units for the first time in more than two years on Friday, as forecasts for mild winter weather in the U.S. and lingering concerns over elevated inventory levels continue to dampen sentiment on the heating fuel.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, natural gas futures for delivery in February settled at USD2.966 per million British thermal units by close of trade on Friday, tumbling 5.45% over the week.

Forexpros – The pound moved higher against the U.S. dollar on Friday, trimming some of the week's losses as heavy selling in the EUR/GBP pair, sparked by ongoing concerns over the debt crisis in the euro zone, supported sterling.

GBP/USD hit 1.5361 on Thursday, the pair's lowest since October 6; the pair subsequently consolidated at 1.5548 by close of trade on Friday, shedding 0.82% over the week.

Grain Futures – Weekly Outlook: January 2 – 6

Forexpros – Last week saw U.S. grain futures rally to multi-week highs as adverse weather conditions in Argentina and Brazil underlined concerns over crop conditions in the South American countries, boosting hopes for a lift in overseas demand for U.S. supplies.

U.S. grain futures posted strong gains in the final two weeks of 2011. Corn, wheat and soybean prices all rose in the nine of the last ten trading sessions.
