2011 Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium: The Facts

Posted: 21 Aug 2011 02:36 AM PDT

The key event in central banking, and certainly the mind of the markets, for this week will be Ben Bernanke’s “Jackson Hole speech” scheduled to take place Friday the 26th of August at 10am ET.  The regular event is where US Federal Reserve Chairman, Ben Bernanke, in 2010 introduced the idea of a second round of quantitative easing (aka QE2).  Naturally this has driven a lot of speculation about what he may say this time; certainly if nothing else, it will provide an insight … [visit site to read more] or compare Best Credit Cards and Balance Transfer Credit Cards

1,733 Days And Counting. The Biggest Trade Barrier To The 3 Free Trade Agreements? Barack Obama

Posted: 20 Aug 2011 05:18 PM PDT

It’s now been 1,733 days since the U.S.-Colombia free trade agreement was signed on November 22, 2006, and during that time almost $4 billion of tarrifs have been imposed on U.S. exports to Colombia.

It’s now been 570 days since President Obama’s first State of the Union address on January 27, 2010, where he outlined his plan to help U.S. businesses double exports over the next five years and in the process add two million American jobs. Natural Gas Technical Analysis For August 22, 2011

Posted: 19 Aug 2011 12:24 PM PDT

By CommoditiesMansion.com

The natural gas markets took a breather again on Friday as the traders look at the resistance potential of the former support level turned resistance at $4. The truth is that there is far too much supply of natural gas to support pricing, and the recent breaking of the $4 mark was a significant event. We are looking to see a breakdown of the lows again to short this market, and hold that short until $3 or so.

Natural Gas Technical Analysis For The Week Of August 22, 2011

By CommoditiesMansion.com

The natural gas markets remained fairly stagnant during the week as traders are digesting the recent break of the $4 level. That level had held up as massive support previously seems to be holding as resistance. This makes us bearish long term but we are waiting to either short a bounce, or a break to new lows. This gives us a target of $3 based upon the rectangle that we broke through recently. The truth is that there is simply too much natural gas for the … [visit site to read more] or compare Best Credit Cards and Balance Transfer Credit Cards

Gold Technical Analysis For The Week Of August 22, 2011

Posted: 19 Aug 2011 03:12 AM PDT

By CommoditiesMansion.com

The gold markets accelerated the uptrend this past week as traders are becoming more and more nervous about the European debt issues. The market is without a doubt overextended at these levels, and a pullback is more than overdue. We feel that the $1,700 level should act as support, and would welcome a drop to that level. We cannot sell this contract even though we see the pullback coming, as the trend is far too strong to the upside. We are being patient, … [visit site to read more] or compare Best Credit Cards and Balance Transfer Credit Cards

Oil Technical Analysis For August 22, 2011

Light Sweet Crude
The CL contract fell on a quiet tape on Friday, but did manage to form a hammer. This shows that the $80 mark looks to be supportive, but the recent action has been so bearish, there is a good chance that the market may simply be ready to have a relief rally. The rally will more than likely be a chance to sell at a higher price. The market would have to break above the $90 mark for us to change our opinion.

Brent
The Brent markets had a … [visit site to read more] or compare Best Credit Cards and Balance Transfer Credit Cards

Gold Technical Analysis For August 22, 2011

Posted: 19 Aug 2011 03:07 AM PDT

By CommoditiesMansion.com

The gold markets rose again on Friday as traders piled into the safety trade in reaction to a lack of solutions coming out of Europe. Add to that the seemingly downward trajectory of the US economy, and there are plenty of reasons to buy gold. The markets are decidedly bullish, but are overextended at this point. We are waiting to see a pullback to $1,700 or so to get back into the market from the long side. Shorting isn't possible as the trend is far too … [visit site to read more] or compare Best Credit Cards and Balance Transfer Credit Cards
