(NYSE:AIZ) has reported second quarter 2011 operating earnings of 76 cents per share, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 8 cents and significantly lagging the prior-year quarter's earnings of $1.35 per share. The quarter's results were hit by high catastrophe loss (cat loss) incidence and a weak performance at the company's health unit.
