Why the Euro Is In The Path Of A Slow-Moving Train

Posted: 19 Apr 2011 03:49 AM PDT

Mark Twain once said, "If you don't read the newspaper you are uninformed, if you do read the newspaper you are misinformed." That couldn't be truer in this crisis era. And for self-preservation, you're probably better off doing the former rather than the latter.

If you read the daily newspapers, you likely think the Fed and the U.S. government are behind the curve on this recovery. That is, they're making critical mistakes that will leave the U.S. economy … [visit site to read more] or compare Best Credit Cards and Balance Transfer Credit Cards

Gold Technical Analysis For April 19, 2011

Posted: 19 Apr 2011 12:28 AM PDT

By CommoditiesMansion.com

Gold had a confusing day today as it tried to rise, tried to fall, and then eventually settled at just slightly higher. It did however prove the $1,480 area as support, and it appears that a break of $1,500 is very likely. Selling isn't possible, and buying on pullbacks is the only course of action available at the moment in this market.

Oil Technical Analysis For April 19, 2011

Posted: 19 Apr 2011 12:27 AM PDT

By CommoditiesMansion.com

Light Sweet Crude
The CL contract fell hard today as the trading community got rid of riskier assets all around. Because of this, it looks like we may have just made a lower high, which of course is an ominous sign. Of course, it is far from being a trend changing move, but further weakness could be in the near-term picture. Look for support to be found at $105 and $100 a barrel.

AUD/USD Technical Analysis For April 19, 2011

Posted: 19 Apr 2011 12:26 AM PDT

By ForexMansion.com

AUD/USD continues to show its resilience as it sold off hard today, only to rise in the end. The day still formed a bearish candle, although it was fairly hammer-shaped. Because of this, it looks like the Aussie will still continue to rise in value against the USD.

AUD/NZD Technical Analysis For April 19, 2011

Posted: 19 Apr 2011 12:24 AM PDT

By ForexMansion.com

AUD/NZD rose today, but formed a bearish shooting star at the close. Because of this, it appears that it is looking to fall again, as the Kiwi has started to outperform all other currencies over the last few weeks. Although this pair is still in an uptrend at the moment – it appears a further decline is coming.

NZD/USD Technical Analysis For April 19, 2011

Posted: 19 Apr 2011 12:23 AM PDT

By ForexMansion.com

NZD/USD continues to how strong it really is as we had a hard sell off today, only to bounce back late in the North American session. Because of this, it appears that the NZD/USD looks to continue its parabolic move, at least for the time being. However, the move has been so over-extended that it is impossible to buy at this point. Of course, selling isn't an option either. With luck, you are already long this pair. EUR/USD Technical Analysis For April 19, 2011

Posted: 19 Apr 2011 12:19 AM PDT

By ForexMansion.com

The EUR/USD fell hard today, and even went so far as to break below the recent trend line. Because of this, it will be rough sailing for the bulls until some stability is found. It should be noted that the end of the day saw buying, which could show that this pair will ultimately rise again. However, it will be difficult to buy until we break decisively over the 1.45 mark.

USD/CHF Technical Analysis For April 19, 2011

Posted: 19 Apr 2011 12:17 AM PDT

By ForexMansion.com

The USD/CHF pair rose today, showing strength off of the bottom as the market bounced again from the current levels. The 0.88 is once again proving to be massive support, but the pair is most certainly in a down trend. Because of this, buying it is going to be very difficult. The preferred method of trading is going to be selling the rallies below the 0.93 level.

EUR/JPY Technical Analysis For April 19, 2011

Posted: 19 Apr 2011 12:16 AM PDT

By ForexMansion.com

The EUR/JPY pair fell rapidly today as traders fled for safety in the marketplace. However, it should be noted that the pair did bounce a bit at the end of the day – showing that the sellers might have been closing their positions – a sign of a lack of conviction. The central banks are below and waiting to buy, so selling isn't recommended anyway. Buying on signs of support is the way to go.

Natural Gas Technical Analysis April 19, 2011

Natural Gas fell hard today, further complicating the understood direction of this market. It appears that we are currently trying to settle between the $4 and $4.25 areas, as we contemplate whether or not Nat Gas will be replacing nuclear in the near-term future. GBP/USD Technical Analysis For April 19, 2011

The GBP/USD pair fell rapidly today, only to bounce back up in the afternoon during American trading. Because of this, the pair now looks even more bullish over all, and could possibly is a longer-term buy waiting to happen. We are now in a "buy on the dips" scenario until we break the 1.60 support zone.

USD/CAD Technical Analysis For April 19, 2011

Posted: 19 Apr 2011 12:10 AM PDT

By ForexMansion.com

The USD/CAD pair spiked today, but fell again as the 0.97 level showed how strong of a resistance area it really is. Because of the massive downtrend, we have been telling you this is a "sell on the rallies" type of pair, and as such – you would have done quite well today. Until we break the 0.97 level on a daily close – selling is the only way to go here.

EUR/GBP Technical Analysis For April 19, 2011

Posted: 19 Apr 2011 12:08 AM PDT

By ForexMansion.com

The EUR/GBP pair absolutely fell apart today, closing at the lows. As the market fell below the all-important 0.88 level, traders will certainly wonder if the pair has ran out of strength. Because of this, expect to see some choppy trading over the next couple of days. A break below today's lows could signal a further move to the downside. Waiting a day or two for clarity might be the way to go.

Hot Option Plays: Downside A Worry?

Posted: 18 Apr 2011 02:18 PM PDT

Cusick’s Corner
The EU and S&P strike, the market reacts pulling back on the open and trying to bounce into the Midday. This is the red flag that I saw coming but just didn’t know what was going to be the catalyst, now we have some. If the downside is a worry, consider bear put spreads on a broad based index or ETF. For example, if you have a portfolio of securities that are represented in the S&P 500, you could purchase an at-the-money put, SPY 130 and sell an out-of-the-money put … [visit site to read more] or compare Best Credit Cards and Balance Transfer Credit Cards

Hot Option Plays: Mitigating Some Currency Volatility

Cusick’s Corner
Currency markets have been put on notice — what markets to consider? Look at Gold — GCM11 or GLD could be a way to play some of this currency uncertainty/volatility. People often look at Gold as an inflation fighter but it also can be very important when currencies come under pressure, especially when some in the media refer to some currencies as worthless pieces of paper. Now you could use the gold futures market, GCM11, or you could use the gold ETF, GLD, or even a gold … [visit site to read more] or compare Best Credit Cards and Balance Transfer Credit Cards

Late To The Party…Once Again

The only thing more ridiculous than S&P’s too little too late semi-downgrade of U.S. sovereign debt was the market’s severe reaction to the announcement. Has S&P really added anything to the debate that wasn’t already widely known? In any event, S&P’s statement amounts to a wake up call to anyone who has somehow managed to sleepwalk through the unprecedented debt explosion of the last few years.
