Sprint Nextel Corp. (NYSE:S), the third-largest U.S. wireless carrier, has finally settled its wholesale pricing dispute with Clearwire Corp. (NASDAQ:CLWR). The company has agreed to pay Clearwire at least $1 billion over the next two years.
Sprint will pay $300 million in 2011 and $550 million in 2012, and make prepayments of $175 million to Clearwire for its 4G services over the next two years. SunTrust Banks Inc.'s (NYSE:STI) first quarter earnings came in at 22 cents per share, way ahead of the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 13 cents. Initial Claims Fall Less Than Expected

Initial Claims for Unemployment Insurance fell by 23,000 last week to 403,000. However, last week was revised up by 4,000, so one could see it as a decline of 9,000. This was worse than the expected level of 390,000.
The trend in initial claims is downward, although there have been some bumps along the way. The weekly numbers, after an erratic few months, seem to have broken decisively to the downside. Last week was a big bump, and this week only partially repairs the damage.

China Foods Raises New Cash To Fund Expansion

China Food (LON:CFC) , the AIM quoted Chinese manufacturer of cooking and dipping sauces, has raised £2.7 million in a share placing priced at 53 pence per share. The funds have been earmarked to fund the supply of additional fermentation silos and pay for the marketing of the company's new premium Xaka soy sauce range, as well as to help drive additional growth.
