Housing Starts Plunge, Again

Posted: 16 Mar 2011 09:35 AM PDT

Housing Starts plunged in February to a seasonally-adjusted annual rate of just 479,000 from 618,000 in January, a drop of 22.5%. As a small silver lining, the January numbers were revised higher from 596,000, so it is possible to see the decrease as 117,000, or “just” 19.6%. Relative to a year ago, they are down 20.8%.
Quite frankly, a year ago was also a pretty lousy time for the home builders, so the drop is off a pretty easy comp. If one looks at only single family houses, the picture was … [visit site to read more] or compare Best Credit Cards and Best CD Rates

Stocks: Why I Bought In Yesterday

Posted: 16 Mar 2011 09:16 AM PDT

If you've been reading my market musings for years, you know how I love to buy when others are selling and sell when others are buying…a true contrarian at heart. Yesterday was no exception for me.

I'm an early riser. 5:30 a.m. at the office is my gig, so I get PROFIT CONFIDENTIAL in my readers' hands as early as possible each day. And when I arrived Tuesday at work to see a sea of red ink across North American stock market futures, I saw more opportunity than risk.

The New Equal Pay Day For Single Young Men

Forex Trading: USDJPY Tests October 2010 Low (16 Year Lows)

Posted: 16 Mar 2011 08:58 AM PDT

The USDJPY is approaching the 2010 low of 80.24. A break will likely lead to further selling pressure.
The JPY trade is a very risky trade.  The BOJ could come in and look to stem the JPY buying. This could cause a sharp bounce back rally. Would I purchase it?  Only with very limited risk.   If the low is taken out, I would not fade the move. Trends are directional. Trends are fast. The USDJPY has been trending lower and lower.

Although the short-term trend for Gold now seems to favor the bears, longer-term, any major price decline could spell a potential buying opportunity. A diagonal spread consists of a long and short position in an option of the same type but with different strike prices and different expiration months.
