Hot Option Plays: Is Inflation Good For A Portfolio?

Posted: 25 Feb 2011 03:18 PM PST

Cusick's Corner
Food for thought this weekend — is inflation good for my portfolio? With corporate profits continuing to top estimates and forecasts still positive out 2-3 quarters, it may be easy to negate the impact of potential inflation on your holdings. But that could be a mistake. Unlike spring of last year when I could fill up my tank for $2.75 a gallon, now I am spending $3.10. This price trend has only been exacerbated by the headlines this week and that has many consumers … [visit site to read more] or compare Best Credit Cards and Best CD Rates

Key Events To Consider Next Week: ECB Interest Rate Meeting And February’s Non-Farm Payroll

Posted: 25 Feb 2011 03:00 PM PST

What should we expect from the ECB meeting next week?
The ECB is in the middle ground between the BoE and the Fed in terms of growth and inflation. Whereas the BoE is facing high inflation but weak growth, and the Fed is seeing modest growth, but no inflation, the Euro-zone economy seems to be in the goldilocks position of decent growth, but inflation above its target. Therefore ECB members like Mersh and Smaghi have become more hawkish as they try and lay down the groundwork for a rate hike … [visit site to read more] or compare Best Credit Cards and Best CD Rates
