Forex Pros – The pound held gains against the U.S. dollar on Tuesday, trading close to an 11-week high, after industry data showed that U.S. manufacturing sector expanded unexpectedly in January.

GBP/USD hit 1.6142 during European late afternoon trade, the pair's highest since November 15; the pair subsequently consolidated at 1.6124, surging 0.69%.
