Collectible Or Numismatic Coins Are Fool’s Gold

Posted: 05 Jan 2011 11:51 AM PST

Last month, I addressed the hype around gold confiscation, and debunked the myth that collectible or numismatic coins would offer effective protection. But there is another sales pitch that many dealers will use while trying to “up sell” you to numismatics. They may argue that on investment merits alone, numismatics are a better bet. While this may be a more rational line of thinking than the typical confiscation con, it is bad advice for investors hoping to protect their assets in an … [visit site to read more] or compare Best Credit Cards and Best CD Rates

If you are a stay-at-home parent, an unemployed spouse or a college student with low personal earnings, you may not qualify for a credit card of your own. This is what the Federal Reserve's proposed lending rule portends.

Hot Option Plays: Strong Data Boosts Dollar & Market

Posted: 05 Jan 2011 11:19 AM PST

Cusick's Corner
The data was strong this morning — ADP way up, equating in a stronger dollar and market today. I think that this could be a rally built on the anticipation of a good employment report at the end of the week, potentially leading to a buy-the-rumor, sell-the-news activity. Volatility continues to pullback off the highs from the beginning of the week, but pending Jobs data might be a short-term crescendo because why would the Fed have to still utilize QE? ISM Services Up More Than Expected

Posted: 05 Jan 2011 10:35 AM PST

The Institute for Supply Management's Non Manufacturing — or Service — survey rose in December to 57.1 from 55.0 in November. Like its venerable brother, the Manufacturing survey, this is a "magic 50" index where any reading above 50 indicates that the economy is expanding and anything below 50 represents an economic contraction.

Thus, this means that the Service side of the economy, which is far larger than the Manufacturing side, is not only growing, but the rate of growth … [visit site to read more] or compare Best Credit Cards and Best CD Rates

Why Rising Rates Are Super-Bullish For Gold And Silver

Posted: 05 Jan 2011 09:51 AM PST

Heading into 2011, the consensus outlook on precious metals is slightly positive but the consensus believes that higher interest rates will ultimately support the US currency and in turn engender a move out of Gold.
