A Focused Strategy For Investing

Posted: 28 Dec 2010 05:45 PM PST

What do I mean by a focused strategy? Nothing more than defining the principles by which you will manage your money. There are three primary methods investors use, technical, fundamental and quantitative. Each has its respective merits and benefits. Defining which fits your style of investing as well as you personality for investing is the first step of the process.

Technical analysis is the science of  recording, in graphic form, the history of trading (price changes, volume, etc.) … [visit site to read more] or compare Best Credit Cards and Best CD Rates

New Years Prediction (I): The Tea Party Conservative Strategy For 2011

Posted: 28 Dec 2010 04:41 PM PST

Next week starts the new Congress, and with it the Tea Party conservatives. What's their strategy? What will they rally around?

They'll grouse endlessly about government spending but I don't think they'll use any particular spending bill to mobilize and energize their grass roots. The big bucks are in Social Security, Medicare, and defense, which are too popular. And their support for a permanent extension of the Bush tax cuts will make a mockery of any argument about  … [visit site to read more] or compare Best Credit Cards and Best CD Rates

Buys: CDE $27.25, KGN $9.03 And NXG $3.15

Posted: 28 Dec 2010 02:40 PM PST

I was encouraged by the strong performance of the precious metal complex today and hope it bodes well for the next few weeks, at least. So I did a little shopping before the market closed and made three purchases.

The first purchase of Coeur D’alene Mines Corp (NYSE:CDE) at $27.25 felt kinda odd to me.  I can still remember buying and flipping this stock a couple years ago for around $1.  Now granted, they have have a reverse stock split since then, but to buy CDE today for 27 times … [visit site to read more] or compare Best Credit Cards and Best CD Rates

Stock Picks For Wednesday December 29

Posted: 28 Dec 2010 02:05 PM PST

Sirius XM Radio Inc. (NASDAQ:SIRI) is looking bullish on charts. The stock is currently trading above its major moving averages and MACD is positive and above the signal line. Other technical indicators are also supporting the bulls. As long as the stock can remain above $1.42, I like the stock. Resistance remains at $1.69 and I would be a buyer on a break above that level.

The stock has several bullish indicators that have being slowly … [visit site to read more] or compare Best Credit Cards and Best CD Rates

‘Because They Can’

Posted: 28 Dec 2010 01:27 PM PST

Let’s say for argument’s sake that hiring is picking up in some industries and in various parts of the country. Should we discount the dynamics of the negotiations involved? In other words, if:

a great many prospective employees are desperate for a job — any job — and have neither the will nor the wherewithal to drive a hard bargain or walk away from the discussions; and,
prospective employers are relatively relaxed about their options and don’t feel compelled to pay up for even the most … [visit site to read more] or compare Best Credit Cards and Best CD Rates

Daily US Dollar Index Roundup – 12/28

Posted: 28 Dec 2010 01:19 PM PST

The US Dollar Index (DXY) managed to recover earlier losses in overall thin trading conditions. Bullish hourly diverging studies (MACD & RSI) triggered a rebound just above the December 17th low in the mid-79 region. Not only does this potentially mark platform support, but it also represents a failure to break daily (9-period) RSI trendline support. A daily close above the resistant 130-day moving average at 80.48 is now required to confirm an upside break-out towards the 200-day moving … [visit site to read more] or compare Best Credit Cards and Best CD Rates
