TODAY'S SUMMARY
Clegg and Cameron are both struggling with their parties
07 December 2010
Everyone knows that Nick Clegg is struggling with his party, says Rachel Sylvester in the Times, but David Cameron is also facing problems with Tory traditionalists. Meanwhile, in the Guardian, Polly Toynbee praises the UK Uncut protests, which are attempting to shame companies out of tax-dodging. Elsewhere, on his BBC blog, Robert Peston argues that the government needs to negotiate a lasting truce with the banks, as both sides need the good will of the other. In the Washington Post, Katrina vanden Heuvel argues that if Barack Obama continues on his current course, he could be looking at a failed one-term presidency that the nation can ill-afford. Finally, in the Financial Times, Gideon Rachman explains why the whole world would be shaken by an economic meltdown in the eurozone.
