In the Daily Telegraph, Anne Applebaum says that Barack Obama has plenty of opportunities to relaunch his presidency in the wake of the Democrats' midterms defeat. But in the Washington Post, George F Will says the American people have resoundingly rejected Obama's ideas-driven liberalism. Finally, in the Economist, Bagehot writes that the Liberal Democrats are proving most influential in justice and home affairs.
