TODAY'S SUMMARY

Anti-environmentalism reflects a corporate agenda

05 November 2010

In the Guardian,
George Monbiot says that Channel 4's latest anti-environmentalist polemic, What the Green Movement Got Wrong , fits all too easily with corporate thinking. Elsewhere, in the Times, Peter Mandelson argues that EU states must adopt greater generosity towards China on two matters: awarding it market-economy status and lifting the EU arms embargo. In the Daily Telegraph, Anne Applebaum says that Barack Obama has plenty of opportunities to relaunch his presidency in the wake of the Democrats' midterms defeat. But in the Washington Post, George F Will says the American people have resoundingly rejected Obama's ideas-driven liberalism. Finally, in the Economist, Bagehot writes that the Liberal Democrats are proving most influential in justice and home affairs.
