It’s A Race To The Bottom For Global Currencies And The Winner Will Be Gold

Posted: 28 Sep 2010 02:30 AM PDT

In 2010, any nation that has a weak currency has a very significant competitive advantage in global trade.  A weak currency means that the products and services produced by that nation will be less expensive for other nations.  Therefore other nations will buy more of those products and services.  When exports go up, employment goes up and more wealth flows into the country.  Alternatively, when the value of a national currency declines, exports do down, unemployment increases and … [visit site to read more]

Return Of Quantitative Easing Benefits Gold

Posted: 28 Sep 2010 01:11 AM PDT

The Federal Reserve said two words in its statement last week that should make every gold investor happy: Quantitative Easing. The Fed hinted that we may see additional QE measures as early as November. The news is good for gold investors because it means there could be more dollars chasing a finite amount of resources, further devaluing the U.S. dollar.

We've already seen an intervention by Japan's central bank to weaken the yen in an effort to boost the nation's sagging export … [visit site to read more]

Forex Trading: USD/JPY Trading Sideways

Things are Looking More Bearish For The US Dollar

Posted: 28 Sep 2010 12:01 AM PDT

Indeed, things are looking more depressed for the greenback. Now, what led me to say such pessimistic statement? Well, technically speaking, the US dollar index (USDX) which is a measure of the greenback's valuation against a basket of other currencies like the arch nemesis, the euro, has just broken down from a massive cone head like head and shoulders pattern. As you know, a break down from such usually leads to a downside reversal which would send the USDX's value to at least its … [visit site to read more]

Euro Zone Eerily Silent amid BOJ and Fed Monetary Moves
Amid the central bank movements from the United States and Japan, the euro zone has been eerily silent regarding its currency valuation and interest rates. This week’s news events should help shed more light on what’s happening in the region, but the scale of reports may not be on par with what is taking place elsewhere. Today’s leading events will be from Britain, although the euro zone will be publishing a few reports on French consumer … [visit site to read more]

U.S. Stock Market Review

The daily index charts still look bullish but heading into the last hour of trading today, it seemed as if the bulls would be able to make the market close in the green today. But weakness in the financials (what else??) insured that the markets closed at their lows for the day.
