Orthopedic devices giant Stryker Corp. (NYSE:SYK) has reportedly struck a deal with New York-based Endoscopy product maker Vision-Sciences Inc. (NASDAQ:VSCI). Under the exclusive three-year pact, Vision-Sciences will manufacturer and supply endoscopic urology devices to Stryker.

Existing Home Sales rebounded by 7.6% in August from an absolutely dismal showing in July. The seasonally adjusted annual rate was 4.13 million up from 3.84 million in July, but down 19.0% from a year ago when the rate was 5.10 million.

Initial Claims for Unemployment Insurance climbed by 12,000 last week to 465,000. That is the first increase in five weeks.

Since claims can be volatile from week to week, it is better to track the four-week moving average to get a better sense of the trend. It declined by 3,250 to 463,250. After declining sharply in the second half of 2009, the four-week moving average has been stuck in a tight trading range.
