TODAY'S SUMMARY

The next Labour leader: it takes two

17 September 2010

Today, an editorial in the Times brands Ed Miliband "dangerous" and urges Burnham, Abbott and Balls supporters to put a "2" next to Miliband the elder. Tom Clark in the Guardian , meanwhile, examines whether a recent poll makes Nick Clegg the hottest new Tory poster boy. In the Times, Camilla Cavendish calls time on the Working Time Directive in the NHS. The Economist's Bagehot says that, when it comes to religion, forgetfulness may be one of our finer virtues. Finally, Johann Hari at the Independent reminds us how Haiti's democratically elected president was toppled by our governments for standing up to the rich, multinational corporations.
