I was going through my scans earlier this morning and came across a bunch of setups I like. Thanks to the consolidation in the markets the entire last week, there are enough of these charts that I like out there that I have to present them in two posts. All these stocks are within 0-5% of their 52 week highs, so they should have room to run if they break out. House Dems Will Take A Thumping In November

Intrade odds for Republicans to control the House after the November elections rose today  to the highest level in the contract’s history: 58.6% (see chart above).  When Obama took office in January 2009, the Intrade odds were only 15% that the Republicans would control the House in 2010, and those odds have consistently risen and have been trading above 50% since late June.

Cloudy Economic Outlook Keeps Crude Oil In Narrow Trading Range

Crude oil futures continued to trade in a very narrow range, unable to cross the $79 a barrel threshold even though they ended 4.4% higher on the month.

The benchmark West Texas Intermediate rallied with the stock market late Friday to finish the week at $78.95 a barrel, virtually unchanged from $78.98 a week ago, after dipping just below $77 a barrel earlier in the week. End-of-month trading might have accounted for some the late gains, analysts said.
